These factors heavily influence how individuals plan and build their careers, underscoring the importance of career adaptability—an individual's capacity to manage current and future tasks, job role changes, and transitions at work, all of which significantly affect their lives. This study examined the career adaptability of 307 employees aged 17–60 in the Jabodetabek area using a quantitative approach and descriptive analysis. Data were collected with the Career Adapt-Abilities Scale Indonesian Form (CAAS-Indonesian Form). The results indicated that the four dimensions of career adaptability—concern, control, curiosity, and confidence—were at moderate levels. Additionally, a positive correlation was observed between career adaptability and job satisfaction. Future research should explore the relationship between job satisfaction and career adaptability in greater detail.
2024-12-31T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 MANASA https://ejournal.atmajaya.ac.id/index.php/Manasa/article/view/6045 WELL-BEING OF DIVORCED SINGLE MOTHER BASED ON PERMA THEORY 2024-11-11T04:45:25+07:00 Astrid Vania astridvania05@gmail.com Wieka Dyah Partasari wieka.partasari@atmajaya.ac.id
2024-12-31T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 MANASA https://ejournal.atmajaya.ac.id/index.php/Manasa/article/view/5421 PERAN ACADEMIC SELF-EFFICACY DAN PEER SUPPORT TERHADAP ACADEMIC BURNOUT MAHASISWA PENULIS SKRIPSI 2024-11-24T07:53:28+07:00 Audrey Chandana Devi chandanaaudrey@gmail.com Margaretha Purwanti marg.purwanti@atmajaya.ac.id Aireen Rhammy Kinara Aisyah aireen.aisyah@atmajaya.ac.id
Completing a thesis is a major academic milestone but often leads to fatigue, stress, and academic burnout. This study examined the roles of academic self-efficacy (an internal factor) and peer support (an external factor) in academic burnout among 7th-semester psychology students completing a 3.5-year thesis at Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia. The study used a quantitative predictive design with 61 participants from the 2020 cohort. Data were collected using the Maslach Burnout Inventory–Student Survey (MBI-SS), The Academic Self-efficacy Scale, and the Peer Support Scale. Multiple linear regression analysis was conducted to assess the relationships among the variables. Results indicated that academic self-efficacy and peer support together significantly influenced academic burnout. Academic self-efficacy showed a significant negative contribution, while peer support had a negative but nonsignificant effect. Burnout levels among participants ranged from moderate to low, while academic self-efficacy and peer support levels were high. Future research could explore the relationship between 3.5-year thesis completion and positive psychological variables related to academic achievement at the Faculty of Psychology, Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia.
2024-12-31T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 MANASA https://ejournal.atmajaya.ac.id/index.php/Manasa/article/view/6081 EFEKTIVITAS PENERAPAN METODE MONTESSORI DALAM MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN LITERASI AWAL KELOMPOK B DI TK BAHTERA BUKIT ZAITUN 2024-11-24T07:56:54+07:00 Elizabeth Pattiwael bethsummersrocks@gmail.com Anak Agung Ketut Sri Wiraswati bethsummersrocks@gmail.com I Gusti Agung Ayu Yunita Utami bethsummersrocks@gmail.com Achmad Fauzi bethsummersrocks@gmail.com
This quasi-experimental study assessed the effectiveness of the Montessori method on early literacy skills among Group B students at TK Bahtera Bukit Zaitun and compared outcomes with conventional teaching methods. The sample consisted of 28 students aged 5–6, divided into experimental and control groups. The Montessori apparatus included large movable alphabets, sandpaper letters, and reading boxes, with the study conducted from April to June 2024. Pretests and post-tests measured alphabet knowledge, phonemic awareness, and grapheme-phoneme correspondence. Results showed significant improvement in the experimental group, with median scores increasing from 2.5 to 3.8 and mode from 1.4 to 3.8. The Mann-Whitney U test yielded a p-value of .003, and the gain score analysis showed a p-value of 0.001 with a biserial rank coefficient of .7, confirming the Montessori method's effectiveness. It is recommended that kindergarten teachers incorporate phoneme-based approaches in literacy instruction, as these methods proved particularly helpful for students struggling with alphabet memorization.
2024-12-31T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 MANASA https://ejournal.atmajaya.ac.id/index.php/Manasa/article/view/6114 GAMBARAN ACTIVE PROCRASTINATION PADA MAHASISWA YANG SEDANG MENGERJAKAN SKRIPSI 2024-11-24T18:00:39+07:00 Elsa Gabriella elsagabriellaa188@gmail.com Flaviana Rinta Ferdian flaviana.ferdian@atmajaya.ac.id
Completing a thesis is a key requirement for undergraduate students, but the process often presents various challenges. In response, some students engage in maladaptive behaviors such as procrastination. While traditionally viewed as detrimental, recent studies have identified a positive form of procrastination called active procrastination. This involves intentionally delaying tasks, feeling motivated under time pressure, meeting deadlines, and achieving satisfactory results. Active procrastination can serve as a productive strategy with potential benefits for undergraduates. This study explored the prevalence and levels of active procrastination among thesis-writing undergraduates. Data were collected from 298 students across universities in Indonesia using convenience sampling. The Active Procrastination Scale-Bahasa Indonesia by Purwanto and Natalya (2019) was employed to measure active procrastination. Findings revealed that thesis students generally exhibit low levels of active procrastination. Additionally, no significant gender differences were observed. The study also found significant correlations among the dimensions of active procrastination. These results suggest that promoting active procrastination may help students adopt a more adaptive approach to managing thesis-related challenges.
2024-12-31T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 MANASA https://ejournal.atmajaya.ac.id/index.php/Manasa/article/view/6099 REPRESENTASI SOSIAL TENTANG GANGGUAN JIWA PADA MASYARAKAT YANG INGIN MENCARI BANTUAN PSIKOLOGIS FORMAL (STUDI PADA MASYARAKAT BANTEN YANG RELATIF MODERN) 2024-11-24T18:08:15+07:00 Ferdinand Prawiro ferdi.prawiro@atmajaya.ac.id Agnes Vereen ferdi.prawiro@atmajaya.ac.id
Banten is one of the provinces that ranks first in health centers that organize mental health efforts. In Banten Province, the prevalence of patients with mental disorders who received treatment and were not abandoned was only 32.16%. With adequate knowledge and access to mental health services, there is no behavior to seek formal psychological help in there. This study aims to understand the meaning of mental disorders in Bantenese society using social representation theory with a structural approach and divided into two stages. The first stage aims to find the attributes of social representations of mental disorders using the word association method. There were 172 participants who participated in the first stage with a total of 929 responses. The categorization process was carried out, and 36 categories were obtained. Content analysis resulted in a Cohen's Kappa value of .588. The second stage aims to map the central core and peripheral attributes using the double denial technique. Results from 181 participants were tested with chi-square goodness of fit expected frequency. The social representation of mental illness in Banten society includes 17 attributes, 12 attributes of central core elements, and five attributes of peripheral elements. The results showed that Banten people have sufficient knowledge related to mental illness and sources of help. However, people still have negative views, concerns, cost considerations, feelings of helplessness, and confidentiality issues. Psychoeducation can be recommended as an intervention to increase public knowledge and shake abnormal and crazy attributes in peripheral elements.
2024-12-31T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 MANASA https://ejournal.atmajaya.ac.id/index.php/Manasa/article/view/6003 RESILIENSI IBU BEKERJA YANG MEMILIKI ANAK DENGAN GANGGUAN PENDENGARAN 2024-11-11T04:47:18+07:00 Frederica Ranithya Lubuk frederica.ranithya@gmail.com Yapina Widyawati yapina.widyawati@atmajaya.ac.id
Parents of hearing-impaired children have various challenges that can cause stress. As they work, these challenges may increase. However, they must still be able to facilitate optimal care for their child’s development, especially at the age of 5-12, because children start to enter social environments. Resilience helps individuals to survive and adapt when experiencing difficulties. Therefore, it is important for parents to have resilience which affects their psychological well-being and their children’s quality of life. The research uses qualitative methods with phenomenological design and thematic analysis. The participants are hearing mothers, who work and have one child with hearing impairment aged 5-12 years old. This research found that all three participants showed resilience after accepting their child’s condition and going through unique dynamics. Perception of stressors, understanding of children’s characteristics, coping abilities, social support, positive interpretation, spirituality, and social support, play a role. Therefore, parents can continue to learn about their child’s condition and seek social support.
2024-12-31T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 MANASA https://ejournal.atmajaya.ac.id/index.php/Manasa/article/view/6090 ANALISIS ASPEK VICTIM ATTRIBUTION PADA REINFORCER BYSTANDER DALAM CYBER BULLYING KALANGAN GENERASI Z 2024-11-24T08:06:03+07:00 Gracella Shenie Devica gracell.202207000239@student.atmajaya.ac.id Jesselena Arinda Putri jessele.202207000218@student.atmajaya.ac.id Maria Jessica Kunardi maria.202207000056@student.atmajaya.ac.id Regyta Starlameivia Tanujaya regyta.202207000003@student.atmajaya.ac.id M. In 2023, the undergraduate unemployment rate was approximately 958,000, or 12% of the total rate. Several factors affect an individual's ability to get a job. One of them is career adaptability, the process of achieving career goals that needs to be developed since undergoing education, especially in final-year students. However, little effort has been made to improve students' career adaptability, such as academic self-efficacy. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between academic self-efficacy and career adaptability in final-year students in Jakarta. A correlational quantitative method was applied to 121 final-year students in Jakarta obtained through convenience sampling techniques. The measuring tool used to measure academic self-efficacy is The Academic Self-Efficacy Scale (TASES) which has gone through a validity test with a corrected-item total correlation score in the range of .384-.602 and Cronbach's alpha reliability score of .885. Meanwhile, the measuring tool for career adaptability is the Career Adapt-Abilities Scale (CAAS) with validity test results in the range of .322-.652 and a reliability score of .905. Based on the results of the correlation test with Spearman's correlation, there was a significant positive relationship between academic self-efficacy and career adaptability in final-year students in Jakarta, with a Spearman's Rho score of .636, p-value < .01. It can be concluded that the higher the academic self-efficacy, the higher the career adaptability of final-year students. Self-confidence in academic ability helps individuals prepare for future careers.
2024-12-31T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 MANASA https://ejournal.atmajaya.ac.id/index.php/Manasa/article/view/6091 RESILIENSI PADA PERAWAT ONKOLOGI RUMAH SAKIT KANKER X YANG PERNAH MENGALAMI COMPASSION FATIGUE 2024-11-24T18:09:06+07:00 Regina Lintang Laras Gantari reginalintg@gmail.com Dhevy Setya Wibawa dhevy.wibawa@atmajaya.ac.id
The continuous workload and emotional burden experienced by oncology nurses at Hospital X can lead to compassion fatigue as a side effect of their work. The impacts include demotivation, low quality of care, and even risks to patient safety. This study aimed to examine the resilience process from compassion fatigue experienced by oncology nurses using qualitative methods. The researcher conducted semi-structured interviews with three nurses with different lengths of experience as oncology nurses. The results of this study showed that all three participants had achieved resilient reintegration with different ways to process it. The emotional burden due to the holistic issues of patients and their families and the complexity of care were the primary factors contributing to compassion fatigue. The research findings can be used to design preventive and remedial efforts to improve nurses' emotional and psychosocial well-being.
2024-12-31T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 MANASA
