Abstract

This study examines the effect of the utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on employee Job Satisfaction, with Work Engagement positioned as a mediating variable. The respondents were full-time employees aged 20 to 54 years who actively use AI-based chatbots or virtual assistants in their daily work in the Jabodetabek area. Data were collected from 64 respondents through an online questionnaire distributed using convenience sampling, and analyzed using a mediation regression approach with the PROCESS Macro Hayes procedure. The results show that the utilization of Artificial Intelligence has a significant positive effect on Work Engagement, and that Work Engagement has a significant positive effect on Job Satisfaction. However, the utilization of Artificial Intelligence does not have a significant direct effect on Job Satisfaction. The indirect effect through Work Engagement is significant, indicating that Work Engagement acts as a full mediator between the utilization of Artificial Intelligence and Job Satisfaction.
