PERBANDINGAN PENGARUH COVID-19, INFLASI, PENGANGGURAN, URBANISASI, DAN PERUBAHAN IKLIM TERHADAP KETAHANAN PANGAN DI AFRIKA, ASIA, AUSTRALIA, AMERIKA, DAN EROPA

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a negative impact on the economy, health, including the disruption of food security in almost the entire world. The government has certainly made many efforts to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, one of which is by imposing a lockdown. The existence of the lockdown has disrupted the factors that affect food security, such as increasing unemployment because many businesses are closed, rising food prices, restrictions on exports and imports of foodstuffs, and much more. This study aims to determine the extent to which the COVID-19 pandemic can affect food security in various regions. This study uses the panel data method using the Eviews 10 application. The independent variables used are inflation, unemployment rate, urban population that reflects urbanization, climate change performance index, dummy variable as a covid-19 pandemic and dependent variable is food security index. The results of this study indicate that inflation significantly affects food security negatively in Africa, Asia, and Europe, meaning that when inflation increases, food security will decrease. Next, the unemployment rate also has a significant negative effect on food security in Asia and Europe, while in Australia it has a positive effect. In addition, urbanization which is reflected in population growth in urban areas significantly affects food security in the 5 regions positively, while CCPI has a significant influence on food security only in the Asian region positively. Lastly, the COVID-19 pandemic had a significant negative effect on Africa, America and Europe, while the COVID-19 pandemic had a positive effect on the Australian region
