This article discusses the challenges in decision-making regarding pricing, production, marketing, investment and risk management arising from digital transformation. Qualitative-conceptual research identified six key themes, including resource optimisation, micro-macro integration and the digital platform economy. The findings indicate that managerial economics acts as a decision-making framework that aligns organisational objectives with information and strategic alternatives. Digitalisation, through big data and AI technologies, expands this role, although decisions remain dependent on data validity and managerial judgement. An adaptive managerial economics model is proposed, comprising the components of objectives, context, evidence and governance.
