Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) methodology to provide a systematic approach to the inspection and mitigation of static equipment in the oil industry. Based on the API 581 standard edition 2020, risk evaluation is conducted through the calculation of the Probability of Failure (PoF) and Consequence of Failure (CoF), with the results visualized in a risk matrix. The research findings indicate that RBI facilitates more targeted and data-driven inspection planning compared to conventional approaches. Furthermore, this methodology allows for the establishment of a measurable timeline for implementing mitigation recommendations, thereby promoting efficient resource allocation, optimizing operational safety, and preventing equipment failures for operational sustainability.
