Abstract

The foundation aggregate highlights the need for efficient fine material quality in road and bridge construction processes. This study aims to analyze the use of limestone sand as a mixture material in the aggregate foundation layer during the construction and preservation processes of bridges and roads. We chose limestone sand due to its abundant availability in the local region and its high efficiency compared to other types of sands. This study method involves physical and mechanical trait testing, which includes pressure tests, wear and tear tests, and density tests specific to its field application. The testing result shows that sand limestone fulfills most of the technical requirements for the foundation aggregate. The result shows a relatively high CBR value to support the heavy traffic loads. The usage of sand limestone also produces efficiency up to 15% compared to other conventional foundation aggregate materials. Therefore, Kupang and its surrounding area have proven that sandstone is one of the best options available to support sustainable infrastructure construction in terms of efficiency
