Analisis Korelasi Aspek Teknik dalam Kegiatan STEAM Fair pada Minat Belajar Matematika Peserta Didik

The rapid advancement of technology requires education to prepare students not only as users but also as innovators. Mathematics, as a key discipline, is often avoided by students, making STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) an alternative approach by linking concepts to engineering applications. This study analyzed the correlation between engineering aspects in a STEAM Fair and students’ interest in mathematics at Mutiara Harapan Islamic School. Results show that 72% of students agreed with the use of engineering aspects (average score 15.7/20), and 64% reported increased interest in mathematics (average score 29.3/44). Correlation tests (Kendall’s Tau-b and Spearman’s Rho) revealed a significant but low correlation. Regression analysis indicated the SEE value was smaller than the standard deviation, confirming that engineering aspects can reliably predict students’ interest in learning mathematics.
