Abstract

This article aims to present one of activities carried out in the factory related to the activity to ensure the capability of Machine Dryer #8, # 9 and #10 PT. Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper produces pulp with a specification of quality surface dirt count < 2,0 mm2/m2 and total dirt count < 5,0 mm2/m2. The capability process method was used in this study. To ensure that the machine has the ability to produce pulp products with surface dirtcount < 2,0 mm2/m2 and total dirt count < 5,0 mm2/m2, CP & CPK values were calculated. If the CP and CPK value are at 1,33 or above, then the machince has the ability to manufacture pupl products with quality surface dirtcount < 2,0 mm2/m2 and quality total dirt count < 5,0 mm2/m2. Based on results, the values of CP and CPK are more than 1,33. Hence, the machine has the ability to produce pulp products with surface dirtcount < 2,0 mm2/m2 and total dirt count < 5,0 mm2/m2.
