Peran Insinyur dalam Program Percepatan Peningkatan Tata Guna Air Irigasi (P3-TGAI)

The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing launched the Program Percepatan Peningkatan Tata Guna Air Irigasi (P3-TGAI) to address irrigation issues through the rehabilitation, improvement, and construction of irrigation networks, involving active participation from farmer groups, particularly through Perkumpulan Petani Pemakai Air (P3A). A major challenge in implementing this program is the limited technical knowledge and administrative experience of the implementers, who are primarily farmers without engineering backgrounds. Therefore, support from experts, particularly in civil engineering, is essential to ensure that the construction of irrigation systems meets standards and proceeds effectively and sustainably. This study aims to explore the role of field facilitators in supporting the implementation of the P3-TGAI program, as well as to provide recommendations for improving civil engineering practices that involve community participation in the development of more efficient and sustainable irrigation infrastructure.
