Abstract

This research aims to optimize flash drum operating conditions at Field-X Central Production Facility (CPF) with a condensate production capacity of 50 barrels per day (bpd). Simulations were conducted using DWSIM software version 8.8.1 with the Peng-Robinson thermodynamic model, varying pressure (5, 10, 15, 20 psig) and temperature (50, 55, 60, 65, 70°C). Simulation results indicate that pressure increases at constant temperature enhance condensate flow rate, while temperature increases reduce RVP values but increase energy requirements. At 5 psig pressure and 50°C temperature, optimal performance was achieved with an RVP of 10.33 psia and an efficiency ratio of 10.30 bpd/kW. However, gravity flow design considerations led to the selection of 10 psig pressure with operating temperatures of 60-65°C. This study provides operational recommendations that balance product specifications, energy efficiency, and system technical constraints.
