Kajian Metode Kantilever dan Semi Kantilever pada Erection Jembatan (Studi Kasus: Proyek Duplikasi Jembatan Liliba)

The Liliba Bridge Duplication Project in Kupang City was undertaken to improve traffic capacity and level of service along a major interregional corridor in Timor Island. Steep valley topography and limited working space required the selection of appropriate bridge erection methods. This study aims to examine the application of cantilever and semi-cantilever methods in steel truss bridge erection and to evaluate the implementation of the Construction Safety Management System (CSMS). A case study approach with descriptive qualitative analysis was employed based on field observations and project documentation. The results indicate that the cantilever method is
effective for sites with restricted space and no under-bridge access but presents a higher risk of structural imbalance. In contrast, the semicantilever method provides better stability for longer spans using temporary mid-span scaffolding, although it requires additional equipment and higher costs. Early implementation of CSMS plays an important role in enhancing construction safety and project performance.
