PENGARUH SELF-CONTROL DAN FOMO (FEAR OF MISSING OUT) TERHADAP KETERGANTUNGAN SMARTPHONE

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh self-control dan fear of missing out (FoMO) terhadap ketergantungan smartphone pada mahasiswa. Self-control diukur menggunakan skala Self-Control dan FoMO diukur menggunakan Fear of Missing Out Scale. Ketergantungan smartphone diukur menggunakan Smartphone Dependency Scale (SDS). Dengan melibatkan sebanyak 140 mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi UIN Raden Fatah Palembang, hasil analisis regresi linear berganda menunjukkan bahwa self-control dan FoMO memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap ketergantungan smartphone. Secara parsial, FoMO memiliki pengaruh positif yang signifikan terhadap ketergantungan smartphone. Artinya, semakin tinggi tingkat FoMO seseorang, maka cenderung akan semakin tinggi pula tingkat ketergantungan smartphone-nya. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa secara parsial, self-control memiliki pengaruh positif yang signifikan terhadap ketergantungan smartphone. Temuan tersebut menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi self-control, maka semakin tinggi pula tingkat ketergantungan smartphone pada mahasiswa.
