EFEK MEDIASI REGULASI EMOSI DALAM HUBUNGAN CHRONOTYPE DAN EMOTIONAL EATING PADA INDIVIDU DEWASA AWAL

Chronotype mencerminkan preferensi individu terhadap siklus tidur-bangun. Hal ini memengaruhi preferensi individu terhadap aktivitas. Chronotype dikategorikan menjadi tiga jenis: morningness, eveningness, dan neither type. Studi sebelumnya telah mengidentifikasi hubungan antara chronotype dan emotional eating, namun mekanisme yang mendasarinya masih belum sepenuhnya jelas. Studi ini bertujuan untuk meneliti hubungan antara chronotype dan emotional eating dengan memperkenalkan regulasi emosi sebagai variabel mediasi. Studi ini menggunakan desain korelasional. Data dikumpulkan dari 197 partisipan dewasa muda di wilayah Jabodetabek. Chronotype diukur menggunakan Morningness–Eveningness Questionnaire (MEQ), regulasi emosi diukur menggunakan Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ), dan emotional eating diukur menggunakan subskala Three Factor Eating Questionnaire (TFEQ-R21). Analisis korelasi dan mediasi dilakukan untuk meneliti hubungan antara ketiga variabel tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hubungan terbalik yang kecil namun signifikan antara chronotype dan emotional eating. Chronotype juga berkorelasi terbalik secara signifikan dengan cognitive appraisal , sebuah dimensi regulasi emosi. Selain itu, emotional eating dan cognitive appraisal berhubungan secara signifikan. Analisis mediasi lebih lanjut menunjukkan bahwa cognitive appraisal sebagian memediasi hubungan antara chronotype dan emotional eating. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa chronotype dan emosi secara tidak langsung terkait melalui cognitive appraisal . Studi ini menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman tentang chronotype dan strategi regulasi emosi seseorang sangat penting, karena faktor-faktor ini berkaitan dengan gejala emotional eating.
