Hubungan adiksi game online dengan keterampilan sosial pada siswa sekolah menengah pertama

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Adiksi game online merupakan ketergantungan yang tak terkendali terhadap game online. Keterampilan sosial remaja dengan adiksi game online cenderung sulit untuk berkembang dan akan menyebabkan terhambatnya perkembangan sosial. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan adiksi game online dengan keterampilan sosial pada siswa SMP Tunas Bangsa Greenville.

Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian analitik potong lintang pada siswa SMP Tunas Bangsa Greenville. Responden mengisi kuesioner demografi, Indonesian Online Game Addiction Questionnaire, dan Matson Evaluation of Social Skills with Youngsters. Analisis data menggunakan uji kai kuadrat.

Hasil: Terdapat 73 responden pada penelitian ini, terbanyak berusia 14 tahun, perempuan, dan SMP kelas III. Terdapat 82,2% responden dengan keterampilan sosial normal 60,3% responden dengan adiksi game online. Terdapat 56,2% responden dengan frekuensi bermain game online ≥4 hari/minggu, 65,8% responden

bermain ≤4 jam/hari sekolah, 57,5% responden bermain ≤4 jam/hari libur, dan 27,4% responden bermain game online dengan jenis shooting game. Analisis kai kuadrat menunjukkan terdapat hubungan bermakna antara jenis kelamin (p=0,048), frekuensi bermain game online (p=0,011), durasi bermain game online pada hari libur (p=0,037), dan jenis game online (p=0,036) dengan adiksi game online.

Simpulan: Tidak terdapat hubungan bermakna antara adiksi game online dengan keterampilan sosial pada siswa SMP Tunas Bangsa Greenville.
