Training of Thesis Conversion into Scientific Articles

Abstrak

Final-year students encounter problems in converting their thesis into scientific articles as one of the requirements from Ministry of Higher Education to graduate from university. This community service aimed at providing understanding to final-year students about writing scientific articles which are from their theses, how to use referencing manager, such as Mendeley and how to submit research article in scientific journal using OJS. The participant of this activitiy was the final-year students and fresh graduates of English Education Department, Faculty of Tarbiyah dan Teaching Science, UIN Alauddin Makassar. The method used in this activity named ’training’ by applying  The Training Cyrcle approach. The training was held in four steps, they were identifying training needs, deciding the aims and planning of training, the implementation of training and evaluation. The result showed that the participants were enthusiastic in taking part in this training since the materials met their needs. Meanwhile, after the training, the students are able to understand to convert their theses into scientific articles, use referencing manager and make an account as well as submit their articles in journals using OJS.
