ANALYSIS OF SELF-REGULATION IN LEARNING AND ACADEMIC PROCRASTINATION OF BUNDA HATI KUDUS JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL IN JAKARTA

Abstract

Self-regulated learning is an individual's ability to manage thought processes that are carried out independently in order to be able to achieve success in their learning goals. Academic procrastination is the behavior of individuals who delay in doing the given task even though they already have the desire to do the given task but are more interested in doing other activities that are more fun than doing their task. This study aims to determine the correlation between self-regulated learning and academic procrastination of 8th graders at Bunda Hati Kudus Junior High School Jakarta. This type of research is quantitative research with a correlational research design. The data collection technique used is a rating scale instrument. Based on the test results of the instrument, it was found that the self-regulated learning instrument had 81 valid statements with the instrument reliability of 0.989; while the academic procrastination instrument has 45 valid statements with instrument reliability of 0.985. The results of the correlation analysis showed that there is a negative and significant correlation between self-regulated learning and academic procrastination of 8th graders at Bunda Hati Kudus Junior High School Jakarta with a correlation value of -0.421. This means that the higher self-regulated learning, the lower the academic procrastination of 8th graders at Bunda Hati Kudus Junior High School, Jakarta, and vice versa.
