Abstract

Family support refers to all forms of assistance provided by family members to individuals in the form of emotional, instrumental, informational, and appraisal support aimed at enhancing individuals’ learning motivation. This study aims to examine children’s perceptions of family support in the learning process at Rumah Belajar Pelangi Nusantara. The study employed a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving four children aged 11–12 years who were actively participating in learning activities at Rumah Belajar Pelangi Nusantara. Data analysis was conducted using triangulation techniques, including data source triangulation and theoretical triangulation, to ensure the validity and accuracy of the research findings. The results indicate that children who receive instrumental, emotional, appraisal, and informational support from their families tend to have higher learning motivation. However, variations remain in the forms and intensity of support provided, depending on each family’s socio-economic conditions and dynamics. In conclusion, family support plays a crucial role in enhancing children’s learning motivation and has a positive impact on their academic development.
